Okul Öncesi ve İlköğretim Modellerinin İncelenmesi ve Bunların Türkiye’ye Uygulanabilirliği/COMPARING EARLY CHILDHOOD AND ELEMENTARY EDUCATION MODELS AND THEIR POTENTİAL APPLİCABILITY IN TURKEY

Bu çalışmada dört farklı eğitim program modeli incelenmiştir: Bank Street, High Scope, Montessori, ve Reggio Emilia. Bu modeller okul öncesi ve ilköğretim alanlarında kendilerini kanıtlamış modellerdir. Bu programların hepside uzun bir geçmişi ve de bir çok değişik yerlerde uygulamaları vardır. Bu çalışmada, bu modellerin tarihsel geçmişleri, öğrenmeye ilişkin düşünceleri, araştırma temelleri,öğretmen ve diğer personel gelişimleri ve de okul ile toplum arasındaki ilişkileri karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonra da, Montessori ve High Scope modellerinin Türk eğitim sistemine uygulanabilirliği tartışılmıştır. All of these models achieved recognition globally  in the field of early childhood and elementary education. All of them have long and established  histories and have been implemented in multiple settings. For the purposes of this paper, the  following areas of differentiation are considered: historical background, assumptions about  learning, the research basis for the program, role of the teacher and staff development, and  relationship between the school and the society. I will examine the Montessori and the High Scope  approaches’ potential applicability to education in Turkey.
