A new Hg (II) electrode for the analysis of mercury in sea food

Abstract

An Hginsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); solid state electrode insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ISE); was fabricated using HgS and the sparingly soluble sulfur salts of Cu and Ag, and the highest sensitivity of the ISE was obtained with 10% HgS insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(w/w); composition. The ISE shows a slope of about 29 mV towards the Hg insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); ion insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(pHg 1,0-7,0 mol L-1);. Hg-SE has a response time of 20 s and a linear slope between pH 1.0 and 5.0. Its lifetimes are 1 year. It was determined that ISE is not sensitive to other ions. The LOD value of the electrode was measureted as 5x 10-8 M. In addition, after the validation of the electrode, Hg measurements in seafood were carried out.
