Abstract :A research on the reasons of the students choice of a specifıc textbook for Geography lessons. The aim of present research is to evaluate the results of practice of National Ministry of Education in Turkev called `Choose your own book`. It was fırstly in 1997-98 Academic year. The questionary constracted with six questions. The sample of research was selected randomiy among students of secondry schools in İstanbul. It was concluded that the students, their families, and schools administrators were all in the behalf of that practice.
