Abstract :The aim of this article is to evaluate the Turkish press in context of truth in news. When we look at the Western documents about the media, it is seen that the main principles are clearly stated The common purpose is to determine the universal principles to regulate the media. Among these, the most important is the objectivity and truth. The news must be distinguished from the opinions. Some other principles are honesty, not hiding the events, searching the truth of news, not presenting the rumors as news, not to get private benefits with immoral ways and respecting the private life.
