Abstract :Refah ekonomisinin, ekonomi bilimi içerisinde nerede yer aldığr konusunda tek bir görüş hakim değildir. Samuelson, refah ekonomisinin bölüşüm teorisi altında işlenmesini isterken, Scitovsky refah ekonomisinin ekonomi politikası içerisinde yer alması gerektiğini belirtir. Fakat, bazı araştırmacılara göre ise, refah ekonomisi hem teorik hem de normatif ekonomi biliminden ayrı, makro ekonominin bir bölümü olarak ele alınmalıdır.
