Abstract :Many important changes parallel to economic, social and spatial changes during Tanzimat period occurred in local administration in İstanbul. Many models was developed in the process of the revision of municipal organization in Istanbul. One of the most important models of them is “Altıncı Daire-i Belediye’’. In this research, the foundation, organizational and fıscal structure and actions of that municipal organization will be searched.
