ANALYSIS OF THE OFFENSIVE PROCESS OF THE PORTUGUESE FUTSAL TEAM: A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE ACTIONS OF FINALIZATION

Abstract :Normal 0 21 false false false PT-BR X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 The aim of this study was analyze the offensive actions of the Portuguese futsal team that resulted in finalization to the opposing goal and the results obtained from these actions. Three games were analyzed during the tournament selection for the European Futsal Championship 2010 . The Portuguese team carried a total of 167 finalizations, 95 finalizations insert ignore into journalissuearticles values( 56,89%); were originated from the actions of organized game insert ignore into journalissuearticles values( OG); , 29 finalizations insert ignore into journalissuearticles values( 17,36%); were from the actions of counter-attack insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CA); and 43 finalizations insert ignore into journalissuearticles values( 25,75%); were from actions of stopped ball insert ignore into journalissuearticles values( SB); . Analyzing the results obtained in these actions, 13 finaliza tions insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(7,78 %); resulted in goals scored, 4 finalizations insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(2,20 %); resulted in balls on the goalpost, 55 finalizations insert ignore into journalissuearticles values( 32,94%); were defended by the opponent goalkeeper , 56 finalizations insert ignore into journalissuearticles values( 33,53%); were intercepted by the opponent player and 39 finalizations insert ignore into journalissuearticles values( 23,35%); went outside . In relation to the importance of each action in the total number of goals, were scored 15,39% from the goals in the actions of OG , 38,46 % in actions of CA and 46,15 % in actions of SB . Portugal makes many finalizations through actions of OG , however   it has a low effectiveness . Almost half of the goals insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(46,15 %); were scored through SB, it    makes sure that this move is a very important and offensive action and should be explored.
