Abstract :In this qualitative study, I have examined the Turkish people’s conceptions about education and the influence of culture on the acquisition of these conceptions. Twelve Turkish people participated in the study. With face-to-face interviews, instant-messaging insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(IM);, and e-mail messages, I have collected data and the analyses revealed that language, family, religion insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Islam);, and agrarian values seem to be the major cultural factors shaping the educational conceptions of the participants.
