Abstract :Introduction and Aim: Traumatic experiences during adolescence, including natural disasters, can significantly affect psychological well-being and may indirectly alter educational and career trajectories. This study aims to investigate the effects of the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes on high school students’ academic concentration, future anxiety, and career preferences. Materials and Methods: An online cross-sectional survey was conducted among 163 high school students. Data on demographic characteristics, earthquake experiences, changes in academic concentration, future-related anxiety, and career decision-making were collected through a questionnaire. Results and Conculusion: Following the earthquake, 67.7% of students reported difficulties in concentrating on their studies, and 74.2% expressed an increase in future-related anxiety. The frequency of these feelings was similar for males and females. While 57.6% of all participants indicated that the earthquake did not affect their career decisions, loss of a loved one was significantly associated with changes in career preferences (p=0.001). Female students were significantly more likely to consider health-related professions compared to males. Keywords : Doğal afet, Deprem, Kariyer seçimleri, Lise öğrencileri
