Abstract :Introduction and aim: This study was conducted to evaluate pediatric nurses\\\' attitudes towards reporting child abuse. Material and method: The study was conducted with 199 volunteer nurses working in the pediatric department of a hospital in Turkey. The data of the study were collected with the “Data Collection Form and Healthcare Provider Attitudes Toward Child Maltreatment Reporting Scale”. The data were evaluated with SPSS 25.0 program. Findings and conclusion: 58% of the nurses who participated in the study stated that they did not receive training on child abuse, 43.7% stated that they encountered child abuse in their professional life, 37.8% stated that they found themselves inadequate in reporting child abuse, 69.7% stated that they did not have information about the child monitoring center, and 84% stated that they needed information about child abuse. When the mean scores of the Healthcare Provider Attitudes Toward Child Maltreatment Reporting Scale were compared according to the gender of the nurses participating in the study, a statistically significant relationship was found (p<0.05). In addition, it was determined that nurses\\\' attitudes towards reporting child abuse were affected by receiving education about abuse, witnessing abuse, reporting abuse and needing information about abuse. In the study, it has been seen that it is necessary to inform all nurses working in the field of pediatrics about reporting abuse and to give nurses the necessary responsibility for making this report.
