Abstract :Anatomi laboratuvarında kostal elementleri bilateral olarak oluşmamış sıradışı bir atlas omuru tespit edildi. Normal gelişmiş bir atlasta arteria vertebralis’lerin ön taraftan processus transversus atlantis’in kostal elementlerince korunmasından dolayı foramina transversarium’ları düzgün gelişmeyip önden açık kalan hastalara cerrahi işlem sırasında daha çok dikkatli olunmalıdır. Arteria vertebralis gibi, bu arterin etrafında seyreden sinir ağının zedelenmesi de bu bölgenin cerrahileri sonrası çıkan komplikasyonlardan sorumludur.
