Abstract :Qudâma b. Ja ‛ far, one of earlier critics of the literary of Arab, dealed with defects of poetry and, he applied logical thougt on the poetry. According to Qudâma b. Ja ‛ far, the poetry established on the four constituent elements: “word”, “meaning”, “metre” and “rhyme”. He determined defects of the four constituent elements and combinations of this elements two by two.
