Abstract :There is a practice of pilgrimage in most of the religions. In general, holy place isconsidered as the common point of pilgrimage in all these religions. Another commonpoint, though not in all religions, is holy time. However, there is no regularly organisedpractice of pilgrimage in other religions as in Islam, the time and place of which isdetermined by the revelation, made incumbent on those who have sufficient funds, andthe way of its practice and the conditions of its acceptance are explained. From thispoint of view, the practice of pilgrimage is not so clear even in other Abrahamicreligions, Judaism amd Christianity, as in Islam. In other religions, to be a pilgrim, thereis no time and place conditions similar to standing at Arafat on the night day of J. Hijjaand circimambulate the Kaaba on the next day in Islam. Pilgrimage in other religions issimilar to visiting holy places in Islam at any time of the year, and this kind of visitingcan be considered as a supererogatory act of worship in Islam.
