Abstract :Ekstrakorporeal şok dalga tedavisi insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Extracorporeal shock wave therapy-ESWT);, akustik basıncın vücuda uygulanmasına yönelik bir tedavi yöntemidir. Şok dalgaları ilk olarak 1980`lerde ürolojide üreter taşları kırmak için kullanılmıştır. 1990`larda ise ortopedide kullanımı üzerine çalışmalar başlatılmıştır. Bugün kliniklerde pek çok tanıda kullanılmaktadır. Bu derlemede ekstrakorporeal şok dalga tedavisinin etki mekanizması, kullanım alanları, kontraendikasyonları, komplikasyonları ve konu ile ilgili literatürde yer alan son çalışmalar özetlenmeye çalışılacaktır. Shock wave was first used in urology for renal stones in 1980s. Research have been started in orthopedics in 1990s. Today it has been used most of the diagnosis in clinics. In this review it has summarized that the action mechanism, indications, contraindications, complications and current studies in the literature about extracorporeal shock wave therapy.
