Abstract :Tracheal injuries, although uncommon, are yet very important since they can lead to immediate death. With the improvement of prehospital medical care the incidence is expected to increase in time. Blunt or penetrating trauma, iatrogenic causes, strangulation, burns and caustic material ingestion give rise to tracheal injuries. Management is either conservative or surgical. Mainstay of the tracheal injuries is suspicion, early diagnosis and prompt management.
