Abstract :This study aimed to examine the effect of paper folding supported geometry teaching on 7th grade students’ spatial visualization skills and attitudes towards geometry. Single group quasi-experimental research model was used in the study. The study group of the research consists of 20 students attending the 7th grade in a secondary school in a district center in the Mediterranean Region in the 2023-2024 academic year. Spatial Visualization Test (Olkun, 2003) and Attitude Towards Geometry Scale (Özdişçi & Katrancı, 2019) were applied as pre-test, post-test and retention test as data collection tools. The paper folding supported geometry teaching lasted for 2 weeks and a total of 8 hours. In the study, it was observed that spatial visualization skills and attitude towards geometry post-test scores were higher than pre-test scores. When the development in the sub-dimensions of spatial visualization was examined, a significant difference was found only in the area measurement dimension. The fact that there was no significant difference between the retention test scores and the post-test scores was interpreted as the information learned was not forgotten. Keywords : Kâğıt katlama, Origami, Tutum, Geometriye yönelik tutum, Uzamsal görselleştirme becerisi
