Abstract :Rethinking Film Festivals in the Pandemic Era and After (2023), edited by Antoine Damiens and Marijke de Valck, analyzes the multi-layered impacts the COVID-19 pandemic has had on film festivals through an interdisciplinary and geographically diverse perspective. The book calls for a reevaluation of festival forms in the post-pandemic era, emphasizing key axes such as digitization, space, representation imbalances, epistemological parameters, curatorial ethics, archival crisis, and ecological responsibilities. The study, comprising three main sections, examines the structural problems that have emerged in the festival ecosystem, presents creative responses to the crisis, and discusses concrete examples of how festivals might be restructured. Shaped by a global perspective that transcends Western-centric A-list festivals, this book takes a pluralistic view of the festival world. It addresses the fundamental issues at stake in festival structures and the theoretical groundwork that informs these issues, and in doing so offers a more inclusive, ethical, and sustainable roadmap for the future of the field. Keywords : Film festivalleri, pandemi, dijitalleşme, festivalleşmenin yeniden yapılandırılması
