Abstract :Becoming pregnant and giving birth very frequently have various negative effects on both the health of the mother and child, as well as for society. Family planning is important in the reduction of economic and social problems due to the effects of rapid population growth. The effects of population growth on national income per capita insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(NIPC);, gross national product insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(GNP);, inflation, and unemployment are demonstrated by comparing OECD countries to Turkey. In 1995, the NIPC of the Turkish Republic could have been 10.000 $ to 15.000 $ instead of 2.673 $, if population growth had been aggressively addressed earlier. Suggestions for solving the problem of population growth include the implementation of various strategies such as the use of a number of educational institutions to reach students and their parents, as well as the application of sanctions for non-compliance. The former suggestion has shown demonstrated success in Batman, Turkey where the implementation of family planning classes in various locations correlates with a measured increase in the use of family planning methods.
