Abstract :Ancient Schwannom perinöral schwan hücrelerinden gelişen nadir bir schwannom çeşididir. Bu tümörler dejeneratif özelliklerine dayanarak `ancient` olarak ifade edilir. Benign kabul edilip yavaş büyüme özelliği gösterdiklerinden çoğunlukla insidental olarak saptanır. Nükleer atipi göstermeleri halinde kimi zaman malign gibi değerlendirilebilirler. Retroperitoneal yerleşimli schwannomlar tüm olguların % 0.5 - 5 `ini oluşturur. Bu makalede bir retroperitoneal ancient schwannom olgusu sunulmuş ve literatür eşliğinde tartışılmıştır.
