Abstract :XVI. YÜZYILDA OSMANLI-HABSBURG MÜCADELESİNİN BİR KAYNAĞI OLARAK MÜHİMME DEFTERLERİ Osmanlı divanından çıkan emirlerin kısa birer nüshalarını ihtiva eden mühimme defterleri, Türk arşivlerinde muhafaza edilen en önemli kaynak serilerinden birini teşkil eder. Birçok fermanın asıllarının yüzyıllar içinde kaybolmuş olması, bu defterlerin kıy­metini bir kat daha artırmaktadır. Makalenin defterleri tarif etmeyi amaçlayan ilk kısmı, belgelerin kayıt sürecini, diplomatik özellik­lerini, en bilindik muhataplarını, ilgili yerlere gönderilme işlemleri­ni, mühimme ve şikayet defterleri arasındaki ilişkiyi ve konuyla ilgili yapılmış çalışmaları ele alır. İkinci kısım, Erdel meselesini ihmal etmemek kaydıyla, XVI. yüzyılda doğrudan Osmanlı-Habs­burg temasları hakkında bilgi veren belgelerin muhtevasını tahlil etmektedir. The mühimme defteris contain shortened versions of outgoing imperial decrees. For this reason, they belong to one of the most significant groups of sources in the Turkish archives. Their value is also enhanced by the fact that many firmans have been lost during the centuries. The first part is a description of the registers and elucidates the stage of recording and the diplomatical characteristics of the documents, the most common addressees, and the practice of dispatching the orders, the relation of mühimme and şiqâyet defteris, and former research on the material. The second part analyses the content of the decrees concentrating mainly on direct Ottoman-Habsburg contacts in the 16th century not forgetting the role of Transylvania within them. Ottoman understanding of war and peace defined the patterns of argumentation they followed. Within indirect communication, Ottoman spying and the story of a Hungarian sympathizer deserve special attention.
