Abstract :RUSSIAN MILITARY DURING THE 1877-1878 RUSSO-TURKISH WAR Russia has realized the of her undeveloped military and that she could not keep up with European Militaries after losing the 1853-56 Crimean War. After the war, new Tsar Alexander II has led to new reforms in the military field as well as other fields. It strikes attention that modernity on Russian Military structure is intensifying right before 1877-1878 Russo-Turkish war. Even though Russia has won the war, it was noted that the reforms has not brought the Russian military to the desired level. In this article, reforms at the Russian Military, which had become Ottoman Empire`s biggest enemy since 19th century, after Crimean War and situation of the Russian Military during 1877-1878 War were evaluated. Rusya Devleti, 1853-1856 Kırım Savaşı`ndan mağlubiyetle ayrıldıktan sonra ordusunun geri kalmışlığını ve Avrupalı ordularla başa çıkamayacağını anlamıştır. Savaşın ardından yeni Çar II. Aleksandr, pek çok alanda olduğu gibi askerî alanda da reformlar yapılmasına ön ayak olmuştur. Rus ordusu bünyesinde yapılan yeniliklerin 1877-1878 Osmanlı-Rus savaşı öncesi yoğunluk kazandığı dikkati çekmektedir. Savaşı Rusya kazansa da yapılan reformların hala Rus ordusunu istenilen seviye getirmediği görülmüştür. Bu makalede, XIX. yüzyıldan itibaren Osmanlı Devleti`nin en büyük rakibi durumuna gelen Rus ordusunda Kırım Savaşı`ndan sonra gerçekleşen reform hareketleri ve 1877-1878 savaşı sürecinde Rus ordusunun durumu değerlendirilmiştir.
