Abstract :This study presents phonetic features of spoken Turkmen that are not represented in the written language. These features are observed in almost all registers, including formal settings, television broadcasts, educational settings, and other areas where standard spoken language is expected, and need to be specifically described. The most frequently observed phenomena are illustrated on the basis of a transcribed recording.
