Abstract :Harala / Garella Fortress is located in the modern-day village of Altınyazı, 25 km southwest of Uzunköprü in the province of Edirne, Eastern Thrace. The Fortress was in the territory of Plotinopolis / Pamphylon insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Uzunköprü); during the Roman and Byzantine periods. In 1974, during some work for the construction of a water channel, a group of metal objects are said to have been found in the church ruins of Harala Fortress. The metal objects are all copper alloy insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(bronze); lighting devices and are now stored in Edirne Archaeological Museum. They were probably part of a larger group of lighting devices associated with the episcopal complex during the MidByzantine period.
