Abstract :A right lacrimal gland retention cyst (dacryops) was presented in a 2-mounth-old English pointer dog. An enlarged right upper eyelid with protrusion of the conjunctiva was observed in the examination. Swelling appearance, dysfunction of the upper eyelid and epiphora were suggestive of a lacrimal gland problem. Adnexal tissue was not affected by the pathology. The Schirmer tear test value was 7 mm/min. Fine needle aspiration and ultrasound showed cystic pathology. Based on the clinical and fine needle aspiration results, a lacrimal gland retention cyst on the right upper eyelid was diagnosed. Surgery was performed under general anesthesia. Histologically, the lacrimal gland epithelium was atrophied, and many ducts of lacrimal gland were dilated. The purpose of informing of this case was to report the histological findings and surgical outcome of a lacrimal gland retention cyst in an English pointer dog. Keywords : Lakrimal bez, dakriyops, cerrahi, histopatoloji, köpek
