Abstract :This article aims to critically evaluate studies on the economic history of Turkey in the Republican Period. To this end, firstly the limits and the possibilities these studies offer and the main factors, which motivate researchers to study on this specific period, are explored. In this context, the question of periodization, the sources, methods and approaches on this period are examined with specific reference to the scholars and institutions, which concentrated mainly on the problems of the economic history of republican period. The article ends with some general remarks on the future of the field and some suggestions for future researches.
