Abstract :The debates on critical realism and relational ontology have created progressive consequences for many sciences since 1980. In this process, of paramount importance is the development of new research programs in urban sociology for the analysis of social stratification, immigration, social change, and class formation. This article evaluates the research program Murat Güvenç has developed in the context of local contingencies and advanced conceptual and empirical models and representations. It also discusses Güvenç`s theoretical and methodological orientation in the context of the new trend based on the relational ontology and epistemology in social sciences.
