Abstract :As a philosophical and linguistic concept, negativity has been evaluated within the concepts of polarity, opposition and duality. Negativity has been associated grammatically - albeit controversially - mostly with modality. It is known that the elements of this topic, which are common to all languages, have different typologies morphologically and syntactically, and differ in terms of function and function. Although this topic is included in Kurdish (Kurmanji) grammar books, there is no independent study on the subject in Turkey. This study, which is a preliminary study on the subject, focuses mostly on the grammatical dimension of negativity, but occasionally refers to the semantic dimension. As a result, it was seen that more detailed studies should be conducted on the subject, and the importance of focusing on the meaning dimension of the subject, especially through text-centered studies, was pointed out and it was concluded that Kurdish and related languages can be compared.
