Abstract :This study examined the relationships among mothers’ perceived parenting approaches, parenting attitudes toward their children, and irrational beliefs. The sample consisted of 490 mothers of children aged 2–6 years who were living in Türkiye in 2019 and were recruited through social media. Data were collected using online surveys. Perceived parenting approaches were assessed using the Young Parenting Inventory, parenting attitudes were measured with the Parental Attitude Scale, and irrational beliefs were evaluated using the Parent Irrational Beliefs Scale. The findings supported the hypothesis that democratic parenting is negatively associated with both authoritarian parenting and irrational beliefs. Significant differences were also found in parenting attitudes and irrational beliefs based on mothers’ age, perceived income level, and the number of siblings the child had. Furthermore, a significant positive relationship emerged between authoritarian parenting and emotionally depriving as well as punitive maternal behaviors. Overall, the results highlight the intergenerational continuity of parenting approaches and suggest that maternal irrational beliefs play a meaningful role in shaping parenting practices. Keywords : Algılanan Ebeveynlik Yaklaşımları, Akılcı Olmayan İnançlar, Ebeveyn Tutumları, Şema Terapi
