Abstract : Izmir is a town with rich habitats in biodiversity as urbanization is rapidly increasing. In this study, the studies on ecology of Izmir have been compiled and important natural areas are mentioned. Urbanization and pollution have also been noted. The purpose of this study is; the bringing together of scientific data on urbanization, pollution and ecology of Izmir and the constituting a basis for evaluating the factors that threaten the ecological situation and environmental health which are not taken into consideration in the projects planned or the projects to be carried out.
