Sosyal Pediatri Polikliniği’nde Değerlendirilen Bebek ve Çocukların Besin Tüketimleri

Abstract :Amaç: Beslenme yaşamın her aşamasında elzem olduğu kadar, çocukluk çağında ayrı bir önem taşımaktadır. Nitekim bu dönemdeki beslenme sorunları yetişkin dönemde oluşabilecek birçok sağlık sorununa zemin hazırlayabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Sosyal Pediatri Polikliniği’nde muayeneleri yapılan 6-60 ay arasındaki çocukların beslenme ile ilgili bazı sorunları ve besin tüketimlerini değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır. Metod: Ankara’da bir devlet hastanesinin Sosyal Pediatri Polikliniği’ne başvuru yapan çocuk ve anneleri çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Annelerden kurumdaki uygun bir odada, çocuğu ile ilgili genel bilgileri ve beslenmelerine ilişkin bilgileri soru formu kullanılarak “yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi” ile araştırmacılar tarafından alınmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmaya ortalama yaşları 26,6±14,8 ay olan 40 erkek ve 30 kız olmak üzere 70 çocuk-anne çifti katılmıştır. Annelerin beyanına göre çocukların %84.3’ü yemek yerken sorun yaşamakta, %94,3’ü yeterli ve dengeli beslenmemektedir. Cinsiyete göre günlük besin tüketimleri incelendiğinde, erkek çocuklarda ayran, kefir, yeşil yapraklı sebzeler, gofret, tatlı bisküvi, simit, poğaça ve gazlı içeceklerin tüketimi kız çocuklara kıyasla istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı biçimde daha yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Diğer besin ve besin gruplarında cinsiyetler arası farklılık saptanmamıştır (p>0.05). Sonuç: Bu yaş grubundaki çocukların beslenme ile ilgili sorun yaşadıkları ve çözüm için faaliyetler geliştirilmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Anahtar kelimeler: Besin, çocuk, anne   ABSTRACT Aim: Nutrition is essential at every stage of life, as well as a separate importance in childhood. Thus, nutritional problems in this period may pave the way for many health problems that occur in the adult period. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate some nutritional problems and nutrient consumption of children between the ages of 6-60 months who were examined in the well-child clinic. Method: Children and their mothers who applied to the Well-Child Clinic of a public hospital in Ankara were included in the study. In a suitable room in the institution, the general information and their nutrition information about their child were obtained from the mothers by the questionnaire using the “face-to-face interview method\" taken by researchers. Results: 70 children and mother pairs (40 boys and 30 girls) with a mean age of 26.6 ± 14.8 months participated in the study. According to the declaration of mothers, 84.3% of children have problems while eating, 94.3% of them are not feeding adequate and balanced. When the daily food consumption according to gender was examined, the consumption of ayran, kefir, green-leaved vegetables, wafer, sweet biscuit, bagel, pastry and carbonated beverage were found to be statistically higher in boys than in girls (p<0.05). There was no difference between the genders in the other food groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded that children in this age group have problems with nutrition and that activities should be developed for solution. Key words: Food, child, mother
