Abstract :Social studies course has an important position for individuals in a society to gain all the knowledge, abilities and skills they need in daily life. With this course, it enables individuals to become active individuals in society, to transfer their thoughts comfortably, to think critically, to respect different cultures, to do research, to love science. The aim of our study is to determine what the skills are in the Social Studies programmes of different countries in the world. The following countries were analysed in our research: Czech Republic, Finland, Republic of South Africa, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Germany, United States, New Zealand, Canada (Ontario), Japan, Egypt, Pakistan, Norway, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Jamaica, Greece and Saudi Arabia. As a result of the data we obtained in this study, while some countries have similar skills, some countries aim to provide different skills. While determining these skills, they are determined according to the cultures, customs and needs of their countries. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study.
