Abstract :This paper employs a regional commodity specific export demand equations to test the hypothesis of a casual relationship between real exchange rate movements and Turkish exports of citrus fruit, nuts, tobacco, and cotton to twenty-five different countries. While our regression results suggest that real exchange rates are statistically significant in determining the exports of tobacco and cotton generally to all regions, they do not show that real exchange rates are an important factor for the exports of citrus crop and nuts regardless of the region.
