Abstract :We can cite dictionaries and indexes among studies that reveal vocabulary. On the other hand, we must add that frequency dictionaries, too, are important compared with other studies in that they provide statistical information. Knowing how frequently a word is used written language is important to reveal the direction of changes in vocabulary and evaluate the historical processes of a language. In our study, we will compare a translation of Qabusname rendered by Orhan Şaik Gökyay and another translation rendered by Nazmizade Murtaza through intra-language based on a translation of Mercümek Ahmet dated 1705 found among the manuscripts at Kütahya Vahit Pasha Library, in terms of vocabulary. In this way, we will be able to determine the direction of change in the vocabulary of Turkish. While doing this, we will compare the frequency rates of the words, thereby obtaining more accurate data.
