Abstract :This study aimed to investigate the levels of cardiac troponin I (cTnI), malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) during the sexual cycle in domestic female cats. For this purpose, blood samples were collected from twenty-six cats, with an equal number of animals in each group. The cats were divided into two groups luteal and non-luteal periods based on their progesterone levels. Malondialdehyde was used to assess the oxidant status, while GSH and GSH-Px were used to evaluate the antioxidant status. Cardiac troponin I levels were measured to assess cardiac status. The results revealed no significant differences in cardiac troponin I, MDA, or GSH levels between the groups, while GSH-Px levels showed a statistically significant difference. In conclusion, further research is necessary to explore the molecular mechanisms involved in the sexual cycle of domestic female catsKeywords : evcil kediler, kardiyak durum, oksidan-antioksidan durum, seksüel siklus
