Abstract :Rûmiyyât are those poems which had been composed in Anatolia or Bilâdu'r-Rûm, just as called by the Arabs/ Ebû Firâs el-Hamdânî d/.357/968 , from Hamdanid dynasty which ruled a part of northern region of Syria\ had been fallen captive to the Byzantine in a war and prisoned in Constantinople İstanbul , During his captivity, he composed some poems and called them Rûmiyyât that make up an important part of his diwan. In Rûmiyyât he narrates his sorrow in prison and remembers his happy and prosperous days in Menbic, Syria. He adresses also to his relates in Syria, especially Seyfu'd-Devle- his cousin and hamdanid prince of Haleb Aleppo , to pay tribute in order to save him. But his sorrow and despair increase when his relates neglect paying. Therefore he rebukes them sometimes.
