Abstract :Following the cultural and economic tremor caused by the Civil War, XXth century Spanish Theatre entered a new era of revitalization. Social realities, criticısm of the bourgeoisie, concerns about highlighting public values were among the popular subjects of the theatre of this period. In this play, in addition to criticising the society on the one hand, and investigating human emotions in depth on the other, the writer also questions human weaknesses. The bitter image of people with confused minds are transmitted to the spectator through a poetic language and fantasies. "Three Top Hats" which has touches of black comedy and contains grotesque elements, intensifies tragedy with the sensation of danger and absurdity with clumsiness.
