Bibliometric Analysis of Articles Published in The Field of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Van Yüzüncü Yıl University The Journal of Social Sciences Institute

Abstract :The main purpose of this study is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of articles in the field of Economics and Administrative Sciences published in the Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Journal of Social Sciences, an international peer-reviewed journal. The analysis aims to evaluate the academic impact and significance of the journal by examining the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the articles published in the journal. Additionally, this analysis can provide guidance for future researchers in identifying gaps within the discipline and defining potential research areas. The results of this study will contribute to a better understanding of the journal\\\'s academic contribution and impact. A total of 101 articles published between 2018 and 2024 were examined. Within the scope of the study\\\'s objectives, an analysis was conducted based on the publication year, titles, number of authors, genders of the authors, affiliated institutions, languages used, fields, types of studies, page numbers, and number of references. As a result of the analysis, it was found that predominantly studies in the field of Business Administration were conducted during the relevant years. The majority of articles were authored by one or two individuals, predominantly male. Approximately 90% of the articles were written in Turkish, and publications by academics holding the title of Assistant Professor were more prevalent. Additionally, it was observed that the majority of articles published during the relevant years were empirical studies, utilizing a total of 3979 references, and typically ranging between 11-20 and 21-30 pages in length. The institutions of the most prolific authors include Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Manisa Celal Bayar University, Düzce University, and Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, respectively, with a total of 47 institutions contributing overall. Furthermore, this analysis may serve as a guide for future researchers in identifying gaps within the discipline and defining potential research areas. The findings of this study will contribute to a better understanding of the journal\\\'s academic impact and contribution.
