Abstract :Denizlerimizde rastlanan Zostera adlı bitki çoğu zaman alglerle kanştınlırsa da Spermatophyta grubuna dahildir. Bu cinse ait Z. marina ve Z. nana türleri bizim denizlerimizde sıksık görlilür. Çimene benzer görünü şte olan bu bitkinin boyu 1 m kadar olabilir. Yapralçlar 1/2 - 1 cm eninde olup çiçekleri 9 - 12 mm uzunluk/ad ı n Çiçekler de 1- 4 karpelden olu şmuş pistil ve 1 -4 stamen vard ı r. Meyva akendir.
