Abstract :Özet Distomolar dişler 3.molar dişlerin distalinde bulunurlar. Dental arktaki bu fazla olan dişlere sürnümerer dişler denilmektedir. Bu dişler genellikle tam olarak gelişemezler. Distomolar dişler genellikle gömüktürler ve radyografik muayene ile tespit edilirler. Komşu oldukları molar dişlerde değişik patolojilere neden olmaktadırlar. Bunlardan birisi de perikoronitis’tir. Perikoronitis molar dişlerin etrafında gelişen dişeti iltihabıdır. Her yaşta görülebilir, fakat genç erişkinlerde görülen akut durumların en önemli sebeplerinden sayılır. Bu olgu sunumunda amaç; genç erişkin bireyde, nadir olarak gözlenen mandibular distomolar dişin eşlik ettiği perikoronitisin klinik bulguları ve tedavisinin ele alınmasıdır.  Abstract Distomolar teeth are placed at the distal of third molar teeth. These teeth are also called supernumerary teeth. Generally those teeth can not develop completely. Distomolar teeth are generally embedded and diagnosed by radiographic examination. Distomolar teeth cause different pathologies at neighbour teeth. One of that is pericoronitis. Pericoronitis is a gingivitis which is seen around molar teeth. Pericoronitis can be diagnosed at every age but it is one of important reasons of acute diseases. This case reports’ aim is emphasizing the clinical findings and treatment of pericoronitis which is caused by mandibular distomolar tooth.
