Abstract :In recent years, the increase in obesity in the world has led to the development of new strategies in combating obesity. In the present study, it was aimed to investigate the effect of niacin and melatonin supplements to combat obesity in rats as a model organism. Treadmill exercise was performed on rats after niacin and melatonin supplementation for 10 days. In each group, weight loss was observed at the end of the 10 days exercise. In this study, it was observed that niacin supplementation leading to weight loss in rats that had treadmill exercise when compared to the control group. In addition, it was found that the weight loss observed in melatonin+niacin supplement was higher than niacin supplement only. It was found that the weight loss observed in the group given melatonin+niacin supplement was higher than the weight loss observed in niacin supplement only. As a result, niacin and melatonin supplementation can be recommended before exercise to combat obesity.
