Simple recommendation for cases requiring re-excision on breast surgery

Abstract :Breast cancer is an important health problem that especially affects women. In breast cancer where surgical procedures are the primary treatment modality, breast-conserving surgery with radiotherapy is becoming more popular than mastectomy. Re-excision may be necessary in cases of recurrence or positive surgical margins. Damage to the cavity formed due to scar formation in the old operation lodge may make dissection difficult. Failure to see the dissection plan clearly may result in incomplete surgery or removal of excess tissue. We present how we macroscopically removed the lesion with clear margins with a simple technique we performed during surgery in a patient who underwent breast-conserving surgery for breast cancer and presented with suspicion of recurrence.
