Abstract :Adropin is a peptide hormone that is involved in food and energy homeostasis and has many metabolic roles. Although previous studies attempted to explain the relation between Adropin and nutritional behavior, there is no strong evidence. In the present study, the effects of peripheral Adropin administration on various signals related to nutritional behavior was investigated in rats at doses of 4 μg/kg and 40 μg/kg by using biochemical and histopathological analyses. It was shown that Adropin reduces feed and water consumption in rats. It was also shown that these effects occur through various neuron groups in the central area by affecting many peripheral signals. Adropin modulates many signals contributing to nutritional behavior.
