Abstract :The compositions on the gravestones with the Turkish alphabet which we have studied are on thepediments and footstones. Acaunthus, cypress and different kinds of flowers were shown within aunique form to show a wholeness. So, different motifs were portrayed together to fullfill the stone.The samples with floral, objective and geometric depictions which were made after the rebuclic arefrom between 1929 and 1961 and covers a 32 years time. It’s attracted the attention both, the clearworkman-ships and harmonius compositions on the stones. Also, some gravestones show a simplenessand linear-decorations. The gravestones with floral decorations are culiar to Gordes tradition
