Abstract :Dünya-Sistemleri Analizi perspektifinin önde gelen temsilcilerinden olan Giovanni Arrighi 1937’de øtalya’da do÷muútur. DoktorasÕQÕ Milan Üniversitesi’nde 1960 yÕOÕnda tamamlayarak iktisat doktoru unvanÕ almaya hak kazanmÕúWÕr. 1963’te Afrika’ya gitmiú, burada Afrika’nÕn kalkÕnmasÕ üzerine çalÕúmaya baúlamÕúWÕr. 1979’da faaliyetlerinde iktisat, tarihsel sistemler ve uygarlÕklar üzerine odaklanan Fernand Braudel Center’a (SUNY Binghampton) katÕlmÕúWÕr. BaúOÕca eserleri úunlardÕr: Geometry of Imperialism, Antisystemic Movements (Terence K. Hopkins ve Immanuel Wallerstein ile birlikte), The Long Twentieth Century: Money, Power, and the Origins of Our Times, Chaos and Governance in the Modern World System (Beverly J. Silver ile birlikte). Profesör Arrighi 18 Haziran 2009’da vefat etmiútir.
