Abstract :Aquaculture continues to develop at a rapid pace, it’s the fastest-growing food production sector in the world. However, the sector`s long-term viability is challenged by the consequences of climate change. Climate change effects on aquaculture production are expected to be both direct and indirect. Various factors of a changing climate have been considered in this review, including rising temperatures, sea-level rise, changes in rainfall patterns, the unpredictable supply of external inputs, changes in sea surface salinity, and extreme climatic events. The effects of climate change will be persistent and likely to be irreversible, resulting in severe consequences on the economy of those engaged in the sector. Wherefore, more effort must be made by the fisheries authorities to understand the dimensions of the impact of climate on aquaculture and prepare for its possible consequences and to assess the types of consequences and develop an appropriate response to manage them.
