Abstract :Shopping centers are used commonly by all users in the cities for many purposes. Every individual has a right to use and benefit from the amenities served in these buildings. Therefore, especially people with disabilities should be able to access and use these building without the restrictions of the physically built environment in these buildings. This study is prepared from the PhD. Thesis prepared by the researcher in Gazi University, Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences. In this study a method has been proposed to evaluate the implementation of international accessibility standards for built environment by the researcher and valuable information on the specific problems regarding these standards were collected by observation on a built shopping center. In conclusion recommendations were listed to make all areas of the evaluated buildings, accessible by the handicapped.
