Abstract :This article examines the foundations and realization of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA), established through the vision and connections of former Queen of Iran and architect Farah Pahlavi and designed by Iranian artist and architect Kamran Diba. The museum seamlessly blends traditional architectural elements with modern materials and forms, bridging historical traditions with contemporary sensibilities. Diba’s design reflects his exploration of Iranian architectural identity in the late 1970s, honoring Iran\\\'s cultural heritage while meeting the functional needs of a modern society. Adopting a historical and biographical approach, this study contextualizes the museum within the pre-revolutionary Iranian art and architectural scene. It focuses on Pahlavi’s vision for a Western-inspired contemporary art museum and Diba’s reinterpretation of this vision through hybrid architectural forms. The analysis highlights the museum\\\'s dynamic relationship with its surroundings, particularly its spatial dialogue with Laleh Park, one of Tehran’s most significant public spaces. Diba’s design creates an intermediary space—a cultural platform fostering social and artistic exchanges in the city. This study draws on international and Iranian literature, oral histories, and collective memory to explore the museum’s legacy and future. It offers a commemorative reflection on TMoCA’s role as a vital intersection of art, architecture, and society. Keywords : Tahran Çağdaş Sanatlar Müzesi (TMoCA), Farah Pahlavi, Kamran Diba, İran Modern Mimarisi, Mimari Kimlik
