Abstract :Efficiency of symbolic multithreshold decoders insert ignore into journalissuearticles values( q MTD); for non-binary self-orthogonal codes in q -ary symmetric channel with alphabet size q are analyzed. It has been shown the bit error rate performance of q MTD depends on many discrete variables. A new optimization algorithm for minimization of the decoding function on the alternating variable descent method base  is proposed. Simulation  results  shown new optimized scheme can offers better performa nce.
