Abstract :Waste management legislation has been amended and a policy has been set up to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills within the framework of the EU regulations adoptions in Turkey. In this respect, the disposal of biodegradable wastes on landfills have been introduced and restricted with The Regulation on Landfilling of Wastes. For this purpose, the use of mechanical, biological and thermal processes to reduce waste amounts is envisaged. In this study, solid wastes produced in Esenler Municipality is characterized. Representative municipal solid waste insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(MSW); samples were collected and calorific values of MSW obtained from different socio-economic regions within the study area were examined.
