Abstract :Fish farms operating in the Karkamış Dam Lake were visited following reports of infection-related mortalitie. A clinical examination was conducted on sick rainbow trout. The clinical signs were observed as slow movement, unresponsiveness to food, darkening of body colour, exophthalmus and occasional ulcers on the skin. Samples were obtained from fish exhibiting symptoms of the disease and cultured on both general and special media. These samples were then incubated in an incubator at temperatures ranging from 24°C for a period of 48 hours. The media-purified strains were then subjected to 94 biochemical identification tests (Biolog GEN III) for the identification of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria to species level, as well as biochemical identification tests. In this study, a total of 11 Janthinobacterium lividum isolates were identified. Antibiotic susceptibility testing using the disk diffusion method revealed that all isolates were sensitive to amoxicillin, penicillin, oxytetracycline, gentamicin, enrofloxacin, florfenicol, and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid. In contrast, resistance was observed against erythromycin and colistin sulfate. Keywords : Karkamış Baraj Gölü, gökkuşağı alabalığı, Biolog GEN III, Janthinobacterium lividum
